The research was led by neurscientist(神经学家) Dr Patrick Fagan frm Gldsmiths University in Lndn.Mre than 100 peple tk part in the experiment,where participants watched Disney film Big Her 6 in either standard frmat r RealD 3D.They als carried ut a brain-training-style test befre and after seeing a sectin frm the film.The test cvered memry,reactin times and cgnitive functin and the results were cmpared later.Accrding t the research,which was carried ut in partnership with science grup Thrill Labratry,participants experienced a 23 percent increase in cgnitive prcessing,as well as an 11 percent increase in reactin times.
Dr Fagan said that the results shwed enugh f an imprvement in brain functin t suggest that 3D culd play a part in imprving brain pwer in the future.“These findings are mre significant than yu might think,” he said.“It is a fact that peple are living lnger and there is a nticeable decline in cgnitive brain functin in ld age which can wrsen future quality f life.There has never been a better time t lk at ways t imprve brain functin.The initial results f this study shw that 3D films may ptentially play a rle in slwing this decline.”
