My mm takes pride in the fact that I was talking in three and fur wrd sentences befre I was ten mnths ld. Sme say it’s a gift while thers simply think I talk t much.

The first ne didn’t wrk fr me. I’m just fine letting peple knw what I think abut them, and hpefully it will make the cnversatin much mre interesting. The secnd ne didn’t wrk either. I d feel the need t participate. I feel it physically like an electrical pulse thrugh my bdy; smetimes it’s s strng that it causes me t behave badly in the frm f interrupting r speaking in an unusually lud vice. I had t lk further.
An interesting thing happened n this jurney t the pwer f quiet. During my weekly yga class, it came t me like an answer s clear that the wrds rang in my head like sft, heavenly bells.
I talked t much s peple wuld knw I cared abut them. It was my way f taking care f thse I lve. I decided befre my frtieth birthday, that frm that day frward, thse arund me wuld knw I lved them, and cared what they thught and felt, but I was ging t practice the pwer f quiet.
As my frty-secnd birthday appraches, I can say that deciding t talk less has been mre abut fcusing n quality rather than quantity. I’ve fund that listening mre shws thse wh I care abut that I really d care hw they feel. Nw when I break in, it means mre t them. Oh, sure, I still have my shrt perids f talking t much, but fr the mst part this has been ne reslutin that I can call a success.
