Nt having enugh buquets(花束) fr all 150 peple f a health center, Law asked the staff t prvide a list f patients wh needed cheering up mst. “The first wman I apprached thught it was a mistake, and that the flwers culdn’t pssibly be fr her, ” says Law. “I said they were a gift, and we talked fr a half hur. ”
    In additin t health centers, Flranthrpie fcuses n cmmunity grups devted t the elderly. Laetitia Theleme is a vlunteer fr Les Petits Fieres, an rganizatin that aims t help the elderly wh dn’t have a supprt system. The grup receives a dzen r s buquets frm Flranthrpie mnthly, and then redistributes them. “Our mtt is ‘flwers befre bread’, ” says Theleme. “We dn’t fcus n primary care, but rather n nurishing(滋养) the spirit. Flranthrpie helps us d that. It’s amazing what a big difference a small buquet can make. ”
    In the beginning, mst f Flranthrpie’s dnatins came thrugh wrd f muth. These days, Law receives messages frm strangers via her rganizatin’s Facebk page and has cnnected with crpratins and flwer whlesalers. Law hpes t expand Flranthrpie natinally, but at this pint is happy t be able t versee each delivery persnally.

    I pulled it back int place and then re-tightened the clamps. He hit a key n the keybard. An electrnic vice tld me, “Thank yu. ” He then fund the cntrl that steered (操纵) the chair, turned and left.
    I gt back in my car and headed ff t wrk, cmpletely frgetting my newspaper. As I drve, I felt a deep gratitude (感激). I was truly blessed t have the physical abilities that allw me t live a nrmal life. Here was this yung man wh relied n machines t get arund and cmmunicate. He prbably dreamed abut ding all the things that I thught were nrmal and simple.
    It’s funny; fifteen minutes befre that happened, I was whining because my mrning paper hadn’t arrived n time. I was glad I helped the yung man, because he helped me gain a new viewpint n everything I had in my life.

    I culdn’t even shut fr help. Luckily my grandpa was ging t the tilet and heard me falling ut f bed. If it wasn’t fr him, I prbably wuldn’t be here.
    The tw hles in my heart were causing the prblems and I needed an peratin immediately t repair them. Unfrtunately, the surgery didn’t g well and they nly managed t repair ne f the hles.
    When I wke up frm the peratin, I had a really dry muth and culdn’t wait t have smething t eat and drink. The biggest shck f all came when I was tld that I needed a heart transplant and was put n the register. The dctrs were stunned at hw quickly heart failure came n—it usually takes years, but it tk my heart less than six mnths t get t that stage. My whle wrld came crashing dwn, but I stayed strng. It was a chice between crying every day and getting n with my life.
    As time went n, life became even harder. I hated feeling weak all the time and needing help with everything. It gt t the pint where I thught I wuld never get a new heart. I was diagnsed with depressin.
    Even thugh I thught that Christmas 2008 wuld be my last, I really enjyed it and even had a gd New Year. Everyne was crying fr me when the clck struck midnight and they tld me t keep fighting.
    A week later, I gt a call frm the dctrs saying they’d fund a suitable dnr (捐赠人). My wish came true and thankfully the peratin went well. I spent fur hurs in surgery where they tk ut my ld heart and put a new ne in. When I wke up I burst ut crying. I had a secnd chance f life.
