Abraham Lincln was brn in Kentucky in 1809. His mther died when he was ten years ld. Later, his family mved t Illinis and his father remarried. The family was pr, s they had t struggle just t live. In Illinis, there were neither teachers nr schls, but Lincln's stepmther encuraged him t study. He learned t read and write while wrking n the farm.
