The persn wh asks “Hw are yu?” hpes t hear the answer “Fine”, even if the persn’s friend isn’t fine. The reasn is that “Hw are yu?” isn’t really a questin and “Fine” isn’t really an answer. They are simply ther ways f saying “Hell” r “Hi”.
Smetimes, peple dn’t say exactly what they mean. Fr example, when smene asks “D yu agree?”, the ther persn might think, “N, I disagree. I think yu’re wrng...” But it isn’t very plite t disagree s strngly, s the ther persn might say “I’m nt sure.” It’s a nicer way t say that yu dn’t agree with smene.
Peple dn’t say exactly what they are thinking when they want t finish talking with ther peple.
