Inspired by the movement to protect the Carmanah Valley and Clayoquot Sound, I decided to devote myself to producing images for conservation full-time in 1992. Since that time my work has taken me all over the world and my photos have appeared in many major magazines. However, many of my most rewarding moments have come from working on projects in British Columbia, Canada, and sharing those images in slide show tours I have given throughout Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
The more I travel and photograph in other parts of the world, the more I have come to realize the wilderness we have in Canada is truly special and rare.
I have always felt that as a photographer my goal is to approach the natural environment with the sense of wonder and curiosity that comes so naturally to children. This, I believe, is one of the basic keys not just to producing meaningful images, but more importantly, to gaining a full appreciation and enjoyment of the natural world.
I find that not only my best images, but also my most enjoyable experiences in nature, occur when I have an open mind and follow my intuition (直觉). When I feel drawn to a certain scene, I try to make the scene simple and not include anything that is not relevant. I also try all ways to look for beautiful light. Early morning and the end of the day almost always produce light that results in more pleasing images than those taken under the strong light in the middle of a sunny day. Soft cloudy skies are wonderful for photographing all day, especially in our beautiful forests or for small subjects like wildflowers. Rain, storms, and snow also provide wonderful opportunities for new and different kinds of images.
41.In the first paragraph, the author mainly tells us about________.
A.his working experiences B.his goal as a photographer
C.his skills in photographing D.his understanding about conservation

    C.has worked as a full-time tour guide since 1992
D.is aware of the importance of environmental protection
43.What’s the authors goal as a photographer?
    A.To produce beautiful pictures
B.To take his children to approach the nature.
C.To gain people’s appreciation and admiration.
D.To get close to nature with strong desire to know about it
44.Which of the following is true of the author’s images?
A.They are not easy to be produced in soft cloudy skies.
B.Sometimes the scenes in them are simple and don’t include irrelevant things.
C.If they are wildflowers, the best time to produce them is in the rain.
D.If produced at the end of the day, they are more beautiful than in the early moming.
45.What is the purpose of writing the passage?
A.To study the key to becoming a famous artist.
B.To show thoughts about nature photography.
C.To praise wonderful scenes they have in Canada.

The official opening of Beijing Daxing International Airport caps a long design and building process. Designed by the late architect Zaha Hadid and her Chinese partners, the airport is built for the future, having a terminal the size of 97 soccer grounds--as well as customer-service robots that provide travelers with flight updates and airport information.
Called "starfish" by Chinese media for its shape of five concourses(大厅)connected to a main hall, Daxing Airport aims to reduce the walking distance for passengers. The airport authority has promised a distance of no more than 600 meters(about eight minutes of walking)between security checkpoints and the remotest boarding gate.
This new modern airport employs a special intelligent lighting system, supported by eight big C-shaped columns that let in the sunlight, brightening the architecture and structure. Therefore, it minimizes the need to use electric lighting.
To offer a more refreshing travel experience, five outdoor courtyards with the themes "Silk Garden". "Tea Garden", "Porcelain Garden", "Countryside Garden" and "Chinese garden" feature at the end of the five departure lounges(等候室)for use by passengers waiting for their flights. Travelers will be scanned on cameras using facial recognition. Counters will be fully automated to capture face photos and relay them in each part of the journey through the airport, including security and the departure gate.
China is projected to overtake the United States as the world's biggest air travel market by 2022. The "modest" initial operational target at Daxing is to accommodate 72 million passengers and 2 million tons of goods annually by 2025. The ambitious master plan calls for the building of a total of seven runways, and moving at least 100 million passengers and 4 million tons of goods a year through the airport.
46.Why is the airport in a starfish-shaped design?
A.To hold as many passengers as possible.
B.To make the main hall easier to be found.
    C.To keep security checkpoints effective.
D.To make boarding gates within easy reach.
47.What can the airport's lighting system be described as?
    A.High-end. B.Energy-saving.
    C.Passenger-friendly. D.Strangely-formed.
48.What can be inferred about the five outdoor courtyards?
    A.They reflect the Chinese tradition.
    B.They use popular technique.
C.They promote Chinese goods to people.
D.They follow the latest world trend.
49.According to the passage, which of the following statements is NOT True?
A.The design and construction of Daxing International Airport took a long time.
B.Zaha Hadid, the architect of Daxing International Airport, has passed away.
C.Passengers pass through security and the boarding gate by automatically capturing pictures of faces.
D.China has now overtaken the United States to become the world's largest air travel market.
50.What do the numbers in the last paragraph indicate?
    A.The airport's market. B.The airport's project.
    C.The airport's potential. D.The airport's facilities.
    D
These days, it's not unusual to see middle-aged men collecting Star Wars action figures, office workers wearing Hello Kitty accessories, or celebrities like David Beckham playing with Lego bricks. It's becoming more and more common to see adults taking an interest in toys, comic books and the activities that are traditionally associated with children. This phenomenon has given rise to a new word: kidult.
What lies behind the phenomenon? One is about adults' nostalgia (怀旧之情)for the carefree days of childhood, and this is especially true with today's fast-paced, stressful lifestyles. Another is about a societal change in recent decades where people are starting families later. As a result, they have more time and money to spend on themselves. Some adults could only window-shop for their dream toys when they were kids, but now they can afford that radio controlled car or high-priced doll they have always wanted.
Businesses have been quick to exploit the kidult trend, and the number of toy stores that target adults has risen. Companies are repackaging products from past decades and also bringing out new ones for adults. Lego, for example, has brought out an architectural series featuring landmarks from around the world.
Society traditionally disapproves of adults who refuse to put aside childhood interests, viewing the refusal as a sign of social immaturity and irresponsibility. Those who agree with this view sometimes claim that kidults are suffering from the pop-psychology concept known as Peter Pan Syndrome, an anomaly (异常)that people remain emotionally at the level of teenagers. On a grander scale, these kidult opponents (对手)argue that such delayed adulthood causes couples to marry later and have fewer children. This in turn can lead to shrinking national economies, for there needs to be a generational replenishment (补充)of the workforce.
From the standpoint of kidults, though, this phenomenon is seen as nothing but harmless fun. Kidults insist that having youthful interests keeps them young, happy and creative, and their refusal to conform to society's acceptable tastes shows independent thinking. Besides, they argue that being part of the social trend of delayed adulthood is not purely a personal choice. The real causes include expensive housing, increased educational requirements for employment and poor work opportunities.
Whether the kidult phenomenon will continue to grow or prove to be a passing trend is anyone's guess. As the debate about it continues, remember that there is nothing wrong with being young at heart.
51.What does the kidult phenomenon refer to?
    A.Adults act like children.
    B.Adults have child-like tastes.
C.Adults go in for collecting toys.
    D.Adults like playing with children.
52.Which of the following might cause the emergence of kidults?
    A.Different living conditions.
    B.More choices about toys.
    C.High pressure of modern life.
    D.Good memories of childhood.
53.What does the underlined word “exploit” probably mean?
    A.Get used to.
    B.Look forward to.
    C.Take advantage of.
    D.Make way for.
54.How does the text deal with the debate about kidults?
    A.By strongly opposing kidult opponents.
B.By convincing readers to accept kidults.
C.By refusing to take a stand on the issue.
D.By presenting both sides of the argument.
55.What can we infer about the author's attitude towards the phenomenon from the last paragraph?
    A.Doubtful. B.Positive.
    C.Disapproving. D.Uncaring.

    第一节:阅读表达(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
    阅读短文,按照题目要求用英语回答问题。
I’ve always been creative since I was a little girl. My childhood was filled with arts, crafts (手工) and music, and every day was an exciting adventure of creation.
Somewhere along the way, however, I lost touch with my creative self. At 21, I landed a job at a big insurance company out of my business degree. I would go to the office, sit at my desk and repeat the same work five days a week 9 to 5. The days were long and tedious. Working this way for one year was painful enough, let alone a lifetime. Before long I decided to make a change.
One thing I had developed an interest in was sewing, so I took a sewing course at a community college. It was only a five-week course but it awakened my interest and got my confidence up.
As I dreamt bigger, I began looking into college courses for Fashion Design and three months later I signed up for a part-time design course. I attended classes two nights a week. Although exhausting, it gave me energy, enthusiasm and happiness.
As it became clearer that fashion was what I wanted to do full time, the reality of my day-to-day work at the insurance company became harder. I felt bored. No energy, no motivation and zero fulfilment (满足感).
I knew I needed to make a bigger change. After struggling for quite a while, I made a difficult decision—leaving my job and studying my design course full time. Two years later I got my diploma.
The last few years have been exciting because I’ve been following my heart to do what I love. Today I am living a creative life as the designer of my own fashion brand.
Sometimes it’s hard to make a change, but I’m so glad I set the wheels of change in motion with that very small first step because it has led me to where I am today.
56.What was the author interested in when she was a little girl? (no more than 10 words)
57.What does the underlined word in Paragraph 2 mean? (1 word)
58.How did the author feel when she was taking the part-time design course? (no more than 10 words)
59.What did the author do to get back to her creative life? Give two of the facts. (no more than 15 words)
60.Do you consider the author as your role model? Please explain. (no more than 20 words)

    第二节:书面表达(满分25分)

Hello, everyone! Let me tell you something about “Clear Your Plate”. Recently, people have realized how much food we waste every year. And everyone is called on to join a campaign, called “Clear Your Plate”, which requires people to eat up all our food.
As for me,I think it’s an extremely good idea to follow. And there are lots of things we can do to contribute our efforts to it. For example, when we go out for dinner, we can just order as much food as we can eat to make sure little will be wasted. Of course, if we really can’t eat up our food, it’s also ok to take it home, so we can eat it later. Besides, once we have a chance to have meals with other people, who don’t realize the importance, we can explain the purpose of the campaign and convince them not to waste food.
Some may question whether the campaign have any effect, but, I think, one thing we should keep in mind is that no matter what a small effort we make, it do make a difference.
    Thank you for your listening!
