    1. Revise the article in Activity 3a n page 70 by asking several students t read it.

    Step Ⅱ 1a
    Read the instructins t the students. Remember t read the sentence in the brackets. Pint t the chart with the three headings Nuns, Verbs and Adjectives. Read the wrds in the brackets t the students and help the students t understand the meanings f nuns, verbs and adjectives.
    Get a student t read the sample answers t the class befre they start say, Fl call als be a verb. Ask the students t cmplete the chart n their wn.
    Crrect the answers by asking three students t read their answers t the class.
    Step Ⅲ 1b
    Ask a student t read the instructins t the class.
    Ask anther student t read the example n the right.
    Wrk in pairs nw. Tell yur partner abut smething that has happened t yu recently. Nte t use tw r mre phrases frm the list in Activity la. Get tile students t talk in pairs. Mve arund the classrm checking their wrk and ffering language supprt as needed.
    After they all finish talking, ask sme pairs t say their cnversatins t the class.

    Say smething abut April Fl’s Day t the students
    Call the students’ attentin t the fur pictures. Ask the students what is happening in each picture.
    Ask fur different students t describe the pictures.
    Read the instructins t the class.
    Play the tape the first time. The students nly listen. Then play the tape again. Ask the students t write each by’s name in the crrect bx. Check the answers by asking different students t tell their wn answers.
    Step Ⅴ 1d
    Read the instructins t the class. There are six phrases in the bx. Yur task is t find ut wh says each f the phrases, Dave, Nick r Je after listening t the same recrding. And write "D" fr Dave, "N" fr Nick and "J" fr Jes n the shrt lines befre the phrases. Lk at the first ne. The answer has been given as a sample.
    Play the recrding the first time. The students nly listen. Then play the recrding again. Ask the students t write the letters in the blanks. Ask six different students t reprt their answers t the class. Check the answers with the class.

    This activity prvides ral practice using the target language.
    First play the recrding again. Pause after each sentence and get the students t repeat.
