Lesson 43 What Makes You Unique?
1.能够掌握课标要求的“四会”词汇:suppose, ourselves, person, personal, sense
2.了解如何介绍自己的个人特点。
3.了解如何询问对方的个人特点及其回答方法。
4.初步了解宾语补足语的用法。
1.掌握一些与自我评价有关的词汇:describe, myself, think, suppose
- 激发学生兴趣,让学生运用所学知识介绍自己的个人特点。
掌握以下重点句子:
①We are supposed to describe ourselves in a report.
②What do you like about yourself?
③What makes you unique?
④What are you proud of?
Step 1 Lead-in
Lead in by discussing the following questions:
Are you proud of yourself?
What are you good at?
What makes you different from others?
Discuss the questions in groups. The teacher shows some pictures about different persons. Ask the students to talk for three minutes. Then let them present the answers in class.
Step 2 Listening
Listen to the tape and answer the questions:
What does Li Ming want to get from Jenny?
How does Li Ming like the report?
What does Jenny tell Li Ming to write about?
Finish the task in class in oral.
Step 3 Reading
Read the dialogue and decide if the statements are true or false.
Li Ming needs to describe himself in a report.
Li Ming has a lot of friends.
Jenny thinks wring special talents and personal strengths are too hard.
Finish the task in class in oral.
Step 4 Activities
1.Introduce your personal strengths. What do you do well in?How do you do with it?Make a dialogue between three or four students. Then present it in front of the class.
2.Work with your partner. Write a letter to each other to introduce your talents.
Step 5 Write a short note
Suppose you are going to introduce your talent and strength. Write a short note. Remember to tell
something about your talent and strength. Practice for a while. Then let some students read their notes in front of the class.
Step 6 Come to “Let’s Do It!”
Read the passage and finish off Exercise 1.Listen to the tape and finish off Exercise 2.
Work with your partners. Act out the dialogue. Suppose you and your partner are Li Ming and Jenny.
Finish off Exercise 3 in “Let’s Do It!”.
