Lesson 37 What’s Your Hobby?
1.能够掌握课标要求的“四会”词汇:hobby, spare, earth, collect, stone, concert, ticket, trade, garden
2.能了解如何介绍自己喜欢做的事情。
3.能了解如何询问对方的爱好和回答方法。
4.能初步了解冠词的用法。
1.掌握一些与介绍兴趣和爱好有关的词汇:interested, hobby, like, enjoy, collect
2.激发学生兴趣,让学生运用所学知识介绍自己的兴趣和爱好。
掌握以下重点句子:
①We know everyone likes to have spare time.
②I enjoy playing ping-pong.
③My hobby is studying stars.
④I’m interested in collecting all kinds of concert tickets.
Step 1 Lead-in
Lead in by discussing the following questions:
What do you like to do in your spare time?
What hobbies do you know?
What things are you interested in?
Discuss the questions in groups. The teacher shows some pictures about different hobbies. Ask the students to talk for three minutes. Then let them present them in class.
Step 2 Listening
Listen to the tape and find the answers to the questions:
What does Wang Mei like to do in her free time?
What does Li Ming enjoy playing?
What is Tao Xiaolin’s hobby?
Step 3 Reading
Read the dialogue and decide whether the statements are true or false.
1.Yang Hao likes studying stars.
2.Li Lin likes collecting coins.
3.Wang Mei likes collecting concert tickets.
Step 4 Activities
- Introduce your interests and hobbies. What are your hobbies?Why do you like them?Make a dialogue among students. Then present it in front of the class.
2.Work with your partner. Write a letter to each other to introduce your hobbies.
Step 5 Write a short note
Suppose you are going to introduce your hobbies. Write a short note. Remember to tell something about your hobbies and the reason. Then let some students read their notes in front of the class.
Step 6 Come to “Let’s Do It!”
Read the passage and finish off Exercise 1.
Work with your partners and act out a dialogue. Suppose you and your partners are Ms. Liu, Wang Mei, Li Ming, Yang Hao, Li Lin, Yi Han and Tao Xiaolin.
Practice for a while. Then ask some students to present their dialogues in front of the class.
Finish off Exercise 2 in “Let’s Do It!”.
