Lesson 41　Show and Tell!

2.能了解更多不同的个人爱好。

1.掌握一些与介绍兴趣和爱好有关的词汇：performance, help, story, garden

2.激发学生兴趣,让学生了解介绍自己的个人爱好和制作家谱的情况。

掌握以下重点句子：

①Would someone help me bring it in?

②Take your hobby out of the box and get it ready, Danny.

③Many people enjoy learning about their family history.

④I like to learn about my family, and I like gardening!

Step 1　Lead－in

Show the pictures to the students.Let them guess：

1.What is in Picture 1？How can you make it？

2.What do people collect in Picture 2？

Let the students answer the questions in class.

Step 2　Listening

Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks with the correct words you hear：

1.Brian brought his________ collection to school today.

2.Danny’s hobby is in a big ________in the parking lot.

3.When the teacher comes back with the ________, Danny is ready.

Finish the task in class orally.

Step 3　Reading

Read the passage and decide whether the following statements are true or false.

1.All the students go to help Danny carry the family tree.

2.Danny’s hobby is in a big bag.

3.Danny knows about everyone in his family.

Finish the task in class orally.

Step 4　Practice

Work in groups. Practice the text. Then present it in front of the class. When the students act, they can use their own words.

Read the text again and find more questions about this text.

Step 5　Activities

Suppose you want to write a short passage about your personal hobby. You don’t know what to say. What can you do？Ask your classmates for advice.

Finish the task in groups. After a few minutes, some students read their passages in front of the class.

Read the lesson and tick the correct answers in Exercise 1.

Work in groups, talk about your collection.
