Lesson 46 My Dream
1.能够掌握课标要求的“四会”词汇:program, voice, excellent, heart, beat, herself
2.了解介绍兴趣和梦想的表达法。
3.了解一些介绍兴趣和梦想的句式。
1.掌握一些与介绍兴趣和梦想有关的词汇:love, dream, teach, excellent, talent
2.激发学生兴趣,让学生学会介绍自己的兴趣和梦想。
掌握以下重点句子:
①I dreamed of being an opera singer.
②But I taught myself by listening to the radio and watching TV programs.
③“Maybe I’m not good enough to be a singer,”I said to myself.
④Believe in yourself.
Step 1 Lead-in
Lead in by discussing the following questions:Do you have any dreams or interests?What are they?What would you like to do but feel afraid to try?
Discuss in groups for three minutes. Then let some students present their answers in front of the class.
Step 2 Listening
Listen to the tape and know about the main points of the passage.At the same time, fill in the blanks with the words you hear.
1.Cathy wants to be an opera________.
2.Cathy wasn’t ________of herself at the beginning.
3.Cathy was the ________one to appear on the talent show.
Finish the task in class in oral.
Step 3 Reading
Read the dialogue and answer the following questions:
How did Cathy teach herself to sing?
What did Cathy’s teacher say to her?
How did Cathy feel at the beginning of the talent show?
Read the passage and finish the task in class in oral.
Step 4 Practice
Ask the students to write a short passage to introduce his or her dreams or interests.
Work in groups to finish the task. After a while, let some groups present their passage in front of the class.
When the students are preparing, the teacher walks around the classroom to solve the problems that probably happen.
Step 5 Come to “Let’s Do It!”
Read the lesson and finish Exercise 1 together. Listen to the tape and finish off Exercise 2 together.
Finish off Exercise 3 in “Let’s Do It!”.
