In General,the cst f the Christmas dinner in htel is abut 400 yuan.“Mst f the ticket cst cvers the perfrmances,decratins and advertisements,” said a public relatins manager f Tianlun.
Shpping centers are als trying t get a share.
“Market prmtins fr the festival seasn(Christmas thrugh Spring Festival)start at the beginning f December,” said Sun Yulian,f the marketing department at Beijing Laitai Flwers and Plants.
Fr Laitai,Christmas really is a seasn t be merry.Nearly all their gds have a Christmas theme—trees,cards,candles,flwers,tys the list ges n.
It has been expected that gds sld during the hliday seasn accunt fr a third f annual prfits f many businesses.
Travel services,f curse,d nt want t be left behind.And verseas travel is particularly ppular this year.
“I want t experience the true Christmas atmsphere in the west,” said Wang Yunli,24,an ffice wrker in Beijing.Wang has bked a trip t Eurpe fr the Christmas seasn.
Accrding t Jiang Peng,a manager f China Internatinal Travel service,mre new trips are available this year and the discunt prices are attracting mre Chinese custmers.

Suth African writer,Jhn Maxwell Cetzee is well-knwn fr keeping t himself.When the 63-year-ld man was named the 2003 Nbel Prize winner fr literature,reprters were warned that they wuld find him“particularly difficult t catch”.
Cetzee lives in Australia but spends part f the year teaching at the University f Chicag. He seemed shcked by the news that he wn the US $1.3 millin prize.“I wasn’t even aware they were due t make the annuncement,”he said.
His lve f privacy leads t dubts as t whether Cetzee will attend the prize-giving in Stckhlm,Sweden,n December 10.
But despite being described as difficult t track dwn,the critics agree that his writing is easy t get t knw.
Brn in Cape Twn,Suth Africa,t an English-speaking family,Cetzee made his breakthrugh in 1980 with the nvel“Waiting fr the Barbarians”.He tk his place amng the wrld’s leading writers with tw Bker prize victries,Britain’s highest hnr fr nvels.He first wn in 1983 fr the“Life and Times f Michael K”,and this secnd title came in 1999 fr “Disgrace”.
