I was in a rush as always, but this time it was fr an imprtant date I just culdn' t be late fr! I fund myself at a checkut cunter behind an elderly wman seemingly in n hurry as she paid fr her grceries. A PhD student with nt a lt f mney, I had hurried int the stre t pick up sme flwers. I was in a huge rush, thinking f my upcming evening. I did nt want t be late fr this date.
We were in Bstn, a place nt always knwn fr small cnversatin between strangers. The wman stpped unlading her basket and lked up at me. She smiled. It was a nice smile —warm and reassuring — and I returned her_gift_by smiling back.

“Yes, she' s special,” I said, and then t my embarrassment, the wrds kept cming ut. “It' s nly ur secnd date,but smehw I am just having the feeling she's‘the ne' ,”Jkingly, I added, “The nly prblem is that I can' t figure ut why she' d want t date a guy like me.”
