Learn the expressions of similarities and differences between Chinese and Western countries on table manners and sayings.

Step 1：Warming up

T：Hello boys and girls！Today we are going to learn a very interesting lesson，it is about popular sayings.Do you like them?

Ss：Yes，we like them.

T：All right.Can anybody give me a English or Chinese sayings?

S：(stand up)Many hands make light work.人多力量大。

T：Oh，very good.Thank you，sit down，please.Any others?

S：(stand up)早起的鸟儿有虫吃。

T：OK，very good，thank you.

T：Do you use sayings in your daily life？Give an example.

Ss：Well begun is a half done.

T：Very good.It is very smart of you.

Next，let’s see a little story about an old saying，and you can guess what it is.

设计意图：从学生们的日常生活入手，通过学生感兴趣的问题导入新课，激发学生的积极性。通过播放小故事的形式，渲染轻松愉快的课堂氛围，让学生在快乐中开始新的课题。



Step 2：Learning sayings

Do Exercise 1 and Exercise 2 on Page 117.

设计意图：通过游戏的方式，让学生在快乐中学习谚语，能增强学生的反应能力，增强英汉之间的转换能力，更快速的理解和记忆谚语。

Step 3：Explain the text

1.Teacher explain the text sentence by sentence，help the students to understand the text better and give them a full understanding of the main sentences and phrases.

2.Let the students read the text aloud，and then give them 5 minutes to remember the sayings and the main phrases.

3.Making sentences with the important phrase.For example：

be similar to—Her clothes is similar to your.

设计意图：让学生在全面理解文章的同时，加强对重点短语的理解，对文章的掌握更全面。

Step 4：Drill

1.Do Exercise 3 on Page 117.

2.Making groups.Four students form a group.

Let the students make a discussion and think about the popular sayings in 5 minutes，and then each group send one to the platform.He will make a presentation about the popular sayings in the name of the group.

Teacher and the students will evaluate it，and choose the good sayings.Students will noted the good ones on their papers.

设计意图：此环节通过小组合作形式，培养学生团结协作的能力，让学生学会分享，让学生通过大家的力量学到更多的东西。
