angry, big, busy, clever, cmmn, deep, fast, friendly, happy, imprtant, lw, ppular, quiet, rich, strng, weak, yung
a bit, dreadfully, extremely, hugely, immensely, intensely, rather, reasnably, slightly, very
+
He was extremely rich.
The peple there are reasnably friendly.
Abslutely, cmpletely, entirely, perfectly, practically, simply, ttally, utterly,
Virtually, almst, exclusively, fully, largely, mainly, nearly, primarily
+
Awful, excellent, huge, impssible, superb, terrible, unique, unknwn, whle, dmestic, envirnmen
She gave us a cmpletely impssible prblem t slve.
It was abslutely superb.
①What yu’re asking isn’t just difficult—it’s extremely impssible!(分级副词+不可分级形
容词)
② Yu’ve wn a hundred punds? Ww, yu’re virtually rich!
副词fairly(=在很大程度上,但是通常比very程度要弱),really(=very much) 和pretty(与fairly相近,用在非正式文体中)通常既可以和可分级形容词连用,也可以和不可分
She’s fairly ppular at schl.
I’m really busy at the mment.
It’s a pretty imprtant exam.
It was a fairly awful film
The flding was really terrible.
The bill was pretty huge.
Sme experience is really / pretty essential fr the jb. (而不用…fairly essential…)
The weather that day was really / pretty perfect. (而不用…fairly perfect)
