STEP 1 Shwing sme pictures
Shw sme pictures f sme famus persns, asking the students if their knw abut these persns and their jbs. Teach the wrd ‘ppular’.
A lt f students knw abut the peple abve. They like them. Get the students t read the names crrectly, especially Celine Din.
Get the students t talk abut their future plans, using the fllwing sentences.
Encurage the students t give their reasns very briefly. And lead them t think abut what they can d fr ther peple and what they can d fr the sciety.

Get the students t read Part A2 alud. Ask the students t read the passage silently and find ut What Millie tries t d and why Millie wants t be a scial wrker.

It is because f Millie’s persnality (kind and helpful) that she wants t be a scial wrker. Scial wrkers are als kind and helpful. Persnally, I think this may help t develp the students’ ability t rganize their speech and writing.
STEP 4 Listening t the tape
Say ‘Sandy wants t write abut her future plans t Mr. Zhu, t. She is talking t kitty abut it.’ Ask the students t listen t the tape and tick ut Sandy’s future plans in Part A1.
Play the tape twice, if necessary.
Help Sandy t cmplete the letter t Mr. Zhu.

Get the students t read the passage tgether. Ask the students t read the passage silently and find the answer t the questin why Sandy wants t be a singer.

Ask the students, ‘D yu knw a lt abut yur patterns future plans? Let’s talk abut ur best friends. First, let’s listen t the sample dialgue here.’
Ask the students t listen carefully and find ut the answers t the questins.
STEP 8 Cmpleting the dialgue
Helen and Sandy are ging t talk abut a girl. Wrk in pairs and cmplete their dialgue. Encurage the students t use their wn language.
