Step 1:Lead-inLead-in by discussing the following questions:1.When is your birthday?2.How do you get ready for your birthday party?Discuss in groups for three minutes.Then let some students present their answers in front of the class.Step 2:ListeningListen to the tape and know about the main points of the dialogue. At the same time,fill in the blanks with the words you hear.1.Li Ming is making a________ ________for his grandfather.2.Jack’s birthday is on________.Finish the task in class orally.Step 3:ReadingRead the lesson and answer the following questions:1.When is Li Ming’s grandfather’s birthday?2.How many days does a leap year have?Finish the task in class orally.Step 4:PracticeAsk the students to write a note to introduce their birthdays.Work in groups to finish the task.
