其他时间状语从句的应用
表示过去某个时刻或时间段/点正在发生进行的动作或存在的状态。e.g. He was having breakfast at six ’clck yesterday mrning. He was writing stries the whle mrning.
主语 + was / were + ding + 其他
肯定句：主语 + was / were + ding + 其他e.g. I was watching TV at eight last night.
否定句：主语 + was / were + nt + ding + 其他e.g. I was nt watching TV at eight last night.
一般疑问句：was / were +主语+ ding + 其他?肯定回答：Yes, 主语 + was / were.否定回答：N, 主语 +was / were — Were yu watching TV at eight last night? — Yes, I was. / N, I wasn’t.
特殊疑问句：特殊疑问词 + was / were + 主语 + ding + 其他?e.g. What were yu ding at eight last night?
小练：1）She was ging shpping at 3 ’clck yesterday afternn.变为一般疑问句并作否定回答：
— Was she ging shpping at 3 ’clck yesterday afternn?— N, She wasn’t.
2）She was ging shpping at 3 ’clck yesterday afternn.对划线部分提问：
What was she ding at 3 ’clck yesterday afternn?
at + 具体时刻 + 过去时间 e.g. What were yu ding at eight last Saturday?
at this time / mment + 过去时间 e.g. What was she ding at this time yesterday?
过去时间段e.g. She was watching TV frm nine t ten last night.
when & while （“当……的时候”）引导的时间状语从句e.g. My mther was cking when I came in.
when 引导的时间状语从句可以是短暂性动作或延续性动作。e.g. I was sleeping when the thief came in. When I was sleeping, the thief came in.
while 引导的时间状语从句只能是延续性动作。e.g. The thief came in while I was sleeping.
when & while用法小结：
延续性动作一般用过去进行时（when / while）；短暂性动作一般用一般过去时（when）。
when & while 用法记忆口诀：
when后可短亦可长, while 只可长；若是两个都为长, while 来把纽带当e.g. She was eating while I was sleeping.

1）while 有“然而”的意思。此时表示对比。e.g. He was ding his hmewrk while his brther was watching TV at this time yesterday.
2）过去进行时与一般过去时的区别：过去进行时通常表示过去某个时间点或时间段正在进行的动作或持续的状态。一般过去时通常表示发生在过去的动作或状态。
I was reading a bk last night. 我昨晚正在看书。I read a bk last night. 我昨晚看了一本书。
3）其他引导时间状语从句的用法。① befre “在……之前”：表示主句动作发生在befre引导的从句动作之前。e.g. Please send me messages befre yu leave.
② after “在……之后”：表示主句动作发生在after引导的从句动作之后。e.g. Yu can g ut t play sccer after yu finish it.
③ since “自从”：since表示“自从”的含义时，多用于主句是现在完成时的句子，若引导的从句，从句时态常用一般过去时。e.g. I have taught them English since I graduated.
④ nt…until “直到……才”e.g. They didn’t leave until the rain stpped.
⑤ as sn as “一……就……”e.g. I will write t yu as sn as I get t Lndn.
注意：时间状语从句中，也会用到“主将从现”原则，即主句用一般将来时，从句用一般现在时。
