【教学过程】
1. Get ready fr writing.
(1) Vlunteer students can read each advertisement. Explain any difficult wrds r terminlgy.
(2) Ask students:
a. Which activity wuld yu like t sign up fr? Why?
b. What additinal infrmatin wuld yu ask fr?
Ensure that all students have a chance t take part in the class discussin and that all the advertisements have been discussed.
(3) Explain that students will mind map their chsen advertisement and the additinal infrmatin and questins that they wuld want t knw.
2. Read the email and answer questins.
(1) Vlunteer students read the email n page 19. Explain any difficult wrds r terminlgy.
(2) Ask the students:
a. Wh is the email frm? Hw d yu knw this?
b. Wh is the email addressed t? Hw d yu knw this?
c. What is the subject f the email?
d. What infrmatin des the student want t find ut?
(3) Explain the cmpnents f an email: Frm: T: Subject, intrductin and salutatin.
(4) Read and discuss the questins.
(5) Read the email alud again, and students underline key wrds in the email.
(6) Students answer the questins in pairs.
(7) Discuss the answers as a class.
3. Identify structure and useful language.
(1) Read the instructin and discuss the table.
a. What is the structure and purpse f each paragraph?
b. What useful language supprts this purpse?
(2) As the teacher reads the email alud, students cmplete the table.
4. Write the purpse f the email and tw related questins.
(1) Read the Sentence Builder. Discuss plite requests using the email abve as an example.
(2) Students write ut the purpse f their email and tw questins they wuld like t ask abut the advertisements.
(3) Ask vlunteers t share their questins.
5. Cmpse yur writing: Outlining.
(1) Students need t utline their email.
(2) Make sure that students are writing ntes and nt cmplete sentences.
(3) Remind students that in the early stages f writing, it is alright t crss ut ideas in favur f better ideas.
6. Cmpse yur writing: Drafting.
(1) Read and discuss the Writing Help n hw t write a frmal email.
(2) Remind students that a draft is the first versin f a piece f writing and that it is als called a rugh draft because it is nt “smth” r finished.
(3) Have students use their utlines t write cmplete sentences and draft their email.
7. Cmpse yur writing: Editing.
(1) Remind students that the final stage f writing, befre publishing, is editing. When we edit, we check that ur ideas are clear and that ur sentences are cmplete.
(2) Have students exchange their writing with a partner and ffer each ther suggestins t imprve their drafts.
(3) After editing, writers will make changes t their drafts and either rewrite r print a clean cpy f the wrk.
(4) Ask students t prepare a final edited draft f their wrk t submit and then place in a writer’s prtfli.
