        Once there was a famine (饥荒). A rich cook sent for twenty of the poorest children in the town and said to them, “In this basket, there is a piece of bread for each of you. Take it and come back to me every day at this hour for more.”

    It is easy to get discouraged when things are going bad. You shouldn’t lose heart, but try your best to do what you can do, and wait for the answer with your best wishes. You don’t know when and where the signal of your good luck will show. For all the negative (消极的) things we have to say to ourselves, there is a positive (积极的) answer for it, even during the pain and the suffering.
