MIT researchers have develped a way t incrprate(融入) electrnic sensrs int fabrics, allwing them t create shirts r ther garments that culd be used t mnitr vital signs such as temperature and heart rate. The sensr-embedded garments can be custmized t fit clse t the bdy f the persn wearing them.
“We can have electrnic parts r lab-made electrnics embedded within the textiles that we wear every day, creating cmfrtable garments,” says Dagdeviren, a prfessr at MIT.His grup set ut t create garments mre similar t the clthes we nrmally wear, using a fabric that has remvable electrnic sensrs in it.
“In ur case, the textile is nt electrically functinal. It’s just a passive element f ur garment s that yu can wear the devices cmfrtably during yur daily activities,” Dagdeviren says.“Our main gal was t measure the physical activity f the bdy all frm the same bdy part, withut requiring any fixture r any tape.”
The electrnic sensrs cnsist f lng flexible strips(细条).These channels have small penings that allw the sensrs t be expsed t the skin.Fr this study, the researchers designed a shirt with 30 temperature sensrs and an accelermeter that can measure the wearer’s mvement, heart rate, and breathing rate. The garment can then transmit(传输) this data wirelessly t a smartphne.
This kind f sensing culd be useful fr persnalized telemedicine, allwing dctrs t remtely mnitr patients.“Yu dn’t need t g t the dctr r d a vide call,” Dagdeviren says.“Thrugh this kind f data cllectin, I think dctrs can make better assessments and help their patients in a better way.”
Last summer, several f the researchers spent time at a factry in Shenzhen, China, t experiment with mass-prducing the material used fr the garments.“Frm the utside it lks like a nrmal T-shirt, but frm the inside, yu can see the electrnic parts which are tuching yur skin,” Dagdeviren says.
( )5.Why d MIT researchers make sensr-embedded garments?
A.T create garments with medical functins.
B.T satisfy custmers’ persnal need fr fashin.
C.T cmplete their academic tasks.
D.T transfrm patents fr benefits.
( )6.What is the main functin f the electrnic sensrs?
A.Mnitring wearers’ behavir.
B.Making the skin fully expsed.
C.Adjusting wearers’ bdy temperature.
D.Cllecting and transmitting health infrmatin.
( )7.What d the researchers expect f the garments in the future?
A.They will bring cnvenience t patients.
B.They culd be in mass-prductin sn.
C.They might lead the new fashin.
D.They may take the place f dctrs.
( )8.What can we infer abut wearing a sensr-embedded garment accrding t Dagdeviren?

B.It’s skin-friendly.
C.It’s ec-friendly.
D.It’s awkward.
故选A项。
由倒数第二段第一句可知,这种传感对个性化的远程医疗有用,医生能够远程监控病人;根据本段最后一句中的“I think dctrs can make better assessments and help their patients in a better way.”可推知,研发者希望此款衣服在未来可以为病人带来便利。故选A项。
