In this perid students will be helped t d “Discvering useful wrds and expressin” exercises first. Then they will be ffered help with their learning f the present cntinuus tense fr future actin. T end they will be asked t write plans fr travel.

Prcedures
1. Warming up by discvering useful wrds and expressins
Hell everyne. After reading the passage, we have gt t knw the usage f the wrds and expressins, but we shuld d mre practice. Nw turn t page 20 t find the crrect wrds and expressins frm the passage t finish the sentences. Yu are given tw minutes t finish them and discuss with yur partners. Tw minutes later, check in pairs and then check with the whle class.
2. Reading and finding
Gd, yu have mastered these wrds and expressins. Let’s turn t page 17 and lk at the questins in Warming up. Underline the verbs in the questins, and pay attentin t the verb frms and d sme explanatins by yurselves.
3. Studying the futurity use f the preset cntinuus tense
We can see that the verbs are all used in the “-ing” frm. They are “the present cntinuus tense”, but they express future actins r plans. The Present Cntinuus Tense may be used t dente an actin that can be pre-planned r prearranged instead f the future indefinite in cllquial English. But please nte that, nt all verbs can be used in the “-ing” frm t express future actins. Such verbs as cme, g, leave, fly, walk, ride, drive, stay, meet, die, see, have, arrive etc. are mainly used in the “-ing” frm t express future actins.
