This is the third teaching perid f this unit. T test whether the students have grasped the imprtant and difficult language pints they learned in the last perid, the teacher shuld first ffer them sme revisin exercises. The pattern “It is. . . that/wh. . . ” is a bit difficult, s special exercises shuld be designed.
This teaching perid mainly deals with grammar and speaking. Firstly, the teacher can enjy with the students the sng “I’m babysitting n Thursday t ”present the Present Cntinuus Tense. The students are expected t make it clear that the Present Cntinuus Tense may be used t dente an actin that can be pre-planned r prearranged instead f the future indefinite in cllquial English. But please nte that, nt all verbs can be used in the “-ing” frm t express future actins. Such verbs as cme, g, leave, fly, walk, ride, drive, stay, meet, die, see, have, arrive, etc. are mainly used in the “-ing” frm t express future actins. Then d the exercises in Discvering useful structures n Page 21 and mre fr students t master this usage. Later n, ask them t make dialgues in pairs accrding t suppsed situatins. This can help the students cnnect grammar rules with prper language frms s as t make grammar rules less abstract. At the end f the class, d the exercises in Using structures n Page 57 and multiple chices as cnslidatin exercises.

The Present Cntinuus Tense can be used t express a plan r an arrangement.
现在进行时可用来表示一个在最近按计划或打算要进行的动作;表示将来意义的现在进行时由句中表示将来时间的词语或上下文表明。
能用进行时表示将来的动词(并非所有的动词):cme, g, leave, start, arrive, give, return, sleep, stay, play, d, take, get, see ff, travel, fly, drive, walk, reach, meet, . . .
