The best recmmendatin I'd like t give yu is t be pen t the experiences and the culture shck. Several cmmn new experiences are arund fd, lcatins, culture, and language.
Fd: The fd in a freign cuntry will nt nly be different frm American fd, but the cking style will als be different. Fr example, while mst American vegetables are usually biled, in China, where I studied, vegetables are ften fried, which, as far as I'm cncerned, is terrible!
Lcatins: In terms f lcatins, I mean that yur study abrad lcatin differs frm yur hme lcatin r cllege lcatin. Fr example, cming frm San Francisc and ging t schl at Munt Hlyke. Cllege in Suth Hadley, Masschusetts, was a lcatin shck fr me.
Culture: Having an pen mind will benefit yu the mst. In a glbal educatin prgram, we had Chinese rmmates, and my Munt Hlyke Class was mainly made up f Chinese graduate students. Therefre, hanging ut with them was nt t much truble, but if finding lcal friends is nt that easy, jin clubs, sit at cffee shps, r start cnversatins at a gathering r party.
