    A Cmmunity Spirit
    Cmmunity service is a kind f unpaid wrk dne t help a particular grup f peple. Hands­n① cmmunity service is required at my schl. Nt nly can it benefit thers but it is als extremely educatinal fr students, as it gives us a clse lk at real­wrld prblems and helps us think beynd the cntext f the classrm and testing.
    Hmelessness is a majr crisis thrughut the wrld and it's especially prevalent② in Ls Angeles in the United States, where I live. In and arund Ls Angeles, apprximately③ 50,000 peple have n chice but t live n the streets in hrrible cnditins. In rder t help, I vlunteered fr different rganisatins, making and handing ut fd t hmeless peple.
    One particular vlunteer prgramme caught my eye, and it's called Share a Meal. On every Thursday night, we vlunteers fr Share a Meal met at a fd truck, where we tk turns making burrits (墨西哥卷). A burrit is a type f fd that is high in calries and prtein, making it ideal fr hmeless peple. Vlunteers als brught water and bananas.
    After making the burrits, vlunteers drve t neighburhd f hmeless peple, where we handed ut the burrits and ther fds. Interacting with the hmeless peple was a very valuable experience. Listening t their life stries made me sad, but their warmth and hpe fr the future was great t see.
    A yung lady with braided hair (麻花辫) brrwed the grup leader's cellphne and talked t her parents cheerfully. A muscular man (肌肉男) with tatts (刺青) warned me nt t quit high schl. An ld cuple living with tw dgs in a tent let my friend pet the dgs. The cuple was happy and appreciative t see that their presence in the cmmunity was nt being ignred.
    The vast majrity f the hmeless face prejudice④ that makes finding a jb and getting back n their feet again much harder than it is fr peple with hmes. Realising hw lucky I am, I want t try my best t be a helpful persn and be mre actively invlved in making the cmmunity a better place.
