1、用法：(1)一般过去时表示在过去某个时间或某一段时间内发生的 动作或存的状态。 My father wrked in Shanghai last year. 我爸爸去年在上海工作。 We were at schl last year.去年我们在学校。
(2)表示过去经常反复发生的动作,常与ften, always 等表示频度的时间状语连用。 I ften went t schl n ft.
2.动词过去式的变化规则(构成)（1）规则动词过去式的变化规则如下：
规则动词的过去式的读音也有规律可循。请记住：清后/t/;元浊/d/;/t/,/d/之后读/ɪd/。①清辅音/p/,/k/,/f/,/s/,/ʃ/等后，-ed要读/t/。如：wrked，finished。②元音或浊辅音/b/,/g/,/v/,/z/,/m/等后，-ed要读/d/如：played，lived。③/t/或/d/后，-ed读/ɪd/。如：started，needed。
（2）不规则动词的过去式变化各异，没有统一的规则，但也并非一点规律没有，下面介绍一部分动词过去式的记忆规律。①动词过去式与动词原形一样。如:let→let, put→put, cut→cut。②遇见i改为a。如: swim→swam, sing →sang, begin→began。
助记:过去式将i改为a的动词游泳(swim)唱歌(sing)后，开始(begin)坐(sit)下来，给(give)点儿喝(drink)的吧，i就变为a。
③过去式以ught和aught结尾的单词，如: bring→brught, buy→bught, think→thught, teach →taught
④中间去e末尾加t, 如:feel→____, keep→kept, sleep→ ____, sweep → swept⑤把i变为,如: ride→rde, drive→______, write → wrte。⑥w/aw变为ew, 如:knw→knew,grw→_____,thrw→threw，draw→drew。⑦以d结尾的词，把d变成t, 如: build→built, lend→lent, send→_____, spend→ spent。⑧连系动词be的过去式有两种形式,主语是第一、三人称单数用 was,其他用were。

3.一般过去时的句式结构(1)含连系动词be的一般过去时的句式 ①肯定句:主语+was/were+其他. 我昨天在家。 ②否定句:主语+was nt (或wasn't)/were nt (或weren't)+其他.

③一般疑问句: Was/Were+主语+其他? 肯定回答用 Yes,主语+was/were. ; 否定回答用 N,主语+wasn't/weren't. ---______ yu at hme yesterday?昨天你在家吗? ---N,I _______.不，我不在家。 ④特殊疑问句:疑问词+was/were+主语+ 其他?（对划线部分提问）

①肯定句:主语+动词过去式+其他. 他们昨天玩得很开心。
(2)含实义动词的一般过去时的句式
②否定句:主语+did nt (或didn't)+动词原形+其他.
They had a gd time yesterday.
They didn't have a gd time yesterday.
③一般疑问句: Did+主语+动词原形+其他? 肯定回答用“Yes,主语+ did.";否定回答 用“N,主语+didn't."

④特殊疑问句:疑问词+did+主语+动词原形+其他? When did they have a gd time?
肯定回答：Yes,they _____. 否定回答：N, they didn't.
①在一般过去时的疑问句中，助动词did后面的谓语动词应用原形。②若对主语提问，则特殊疑问句结构为: 疑问词+动词过去式+其他?

4.一般过去时的时间状语 一般过去时的时间状语有yesterday, a mment ag (刚才) ,yesterday mrning , last night/week, the day befre yesterday(前天),just nw(刚才), in+ 过去的时间(如in 1980)等。He______(make)a lvely mdel car yesterday.昨天他做了一个可爱的汽车模型。
