教学过程 | Review Greet students and play a game to review the imperative sentences: What’s the rule? No music. / Don’t listen to music. No photos. / Don’t take photos. No smoking. / Don’t smoke. No parking. / Don’t park the car. No talking. / Don’t talk. No eating. / Don’t eat. No walking. / Don’t walk. No swimming. / Don’t swim. Lead-in Show some pictures of family rules. Let students learn some rules at home. Don’t go out with friends. Don’t watch TV late at night. Don’t eat in bed. Clean the bedroom on Saturdays. Do my homework after school. Practice the guitar every day. Do the dishes on Sundays. Help mom make breakfast. Learn Step 1 Ask students to read the phrases and match the pictures with these phrases in activity 1a. Step 2 Ask students to listen to the tape and finish activity 1b and 1c. Step 3 Let students’ do a group work: Talk about the rules in Dave’s house. Then let some pairs to show the dialogue. A: What are Dave’s family rules? B: He can’t go out on school nights. A: Can he see friends on school days? B: No, he can’t. A: Does he have to do the dishes after dinner? B: Yes, he does. A: Does he have to help his mom make breakfast every morning? B: Yes , he does. A: Does he have to do his homework after school? B: Yes , he does. A: Must he practice the guitar before dinner? B: Yes, he must. A: Must he clean his room every Saturday? B: Yes, he must. Step 4 Ask students to have a free talk: When you are unhappy about someting, who do you like to talk to? Step 5 Let students Read the first letter in 2b and underline the rules for Molly. Step 6 Ask students to read the first letter again and discuss with their partners to fill in a chart about Molly’s family rules.
Step 7 Ask students to read Dr. Know’s letter and answer the question: What does she think of the school and home rules? Answer: She thinks parents and schools are sometimes strict, but they make rules to help us. Step 8 Ask students to fill in the blanks in activity 2c. Language points 1. practice 的用法 ⑴ 作动词时,意为“练习,训练”,后接名词、代词或动名词作宾语。 ⑵ 作名词时,意为“练习,实践”。 我常常在早上练习英语。 I often practice my English in the morning. 你必须要练习说英语。 You must practice speaking English. 弹钢琴需要多加练习。 Playing the piano needs a lot of practice. 熟能生巧。 Practice makes perfect. 2. help 的用法 (1)作动词时,意为“帮助”,有其固定搭配: help sb. (to) do sth.= help sb. with sth. 帮助某人做某事 help oneself to...意为“请随便用.....” (2)help作名词,意为“帮助”,是不可数名词。 他经常帮我打扫教室。 He often helps me (to) clean the classroom. 李明帮助他们学英语。 Li Ming helps them with English. 请随便吃些水果。 Please help yourselves to some fruits. 我需要你的帮助。 I need your help. Exercises Let students do some exercises that they have learned in the class. Homework 1. Remember the new words and expressions. 2. Write down Molly’s rules at home and at school. |
