Part A:
1、Backgrund:
UNICEF, the United Natins Children’s Fund, nw wrks in 158 cuntries, areas and territries. Their wrk invlves helping prevent childhd illness and death, making pregnancy and childbirth safe, cmbating discriminatin and cperating with cmmunities t ensure that girls as well as bys attend schl. It was created after Wrld War II t relieve the suffering f children in war-trn Eurpe.
2、Daniel is listening t a radi prgram abut UNICEF.
① Explain the cntext f Part A1.
② Tell students t clse their bks. Then play recrding. Ask them just t listen t the tape t try t get its main idea.
③ Ask students t pen their bks and read the sentences. Try the first time t rerder the sentences.
④ Play the recrding, ask students t listen t it again and put the sentences in the rder by putting the numbers.
⑤ Read ut the sentences each and then the whle class read it tgether.

3. Tell students t think abut which prblems are the mst imprtant r serius, the different charities they have learned abut in this unit: Which ne d they like t supprt and why.
4. Ask students t listen t the recrding fr the first time withut referring t the cnversatin and tell them t repeat what they have heard.
5. Then tell them t wrk in pairs by changing the rles f the cnversatin.
6. Tell students t make up their wn cnversatins abut their favurite charities, using the abve ne as a mdel. Give them smetimes t practise the cnversatins and then start the rle-play befre the whle class.

Kitty: I used t buy snacks and pictures f pp stars. Nw I am used t buying bks with my pcket mney. Hw abut yu?

Amy: UNICEF. Because it helps pr children live better. What abut yu?
