T: D yu like singing? Wh can sing a sng fr us? What abut English sngs? Intrduce sme famus but simple sngs t the Ss such as “Twinkle stars”, “Jingle bell”, “Mary has a little lamb”, etc. Wh can sing a sng fr us?
(Maybe mst f the Ss can nly sing sme Chinese sngs. It desn’t matter, praise the Ss wh have sung t get them excited. It’s gd fr tday’s lessn)
T: Yeah, yu can sing Chinese sngs very well. Tday let’s learn an English sng, then yu can sing t yur parents in future. But what kind f sngs d yu like?

Step 1: lead in
T: What’s the weather like tday? What clthes are yu wearing n schl days r n the weekend? There’s a sng abut it. Wuld yu like t learn the sng?

Step 2: A quick review abut clthes wrds
Review sme ld wrds fr clthing, then learn the new wrds in this lessn: bluse, jeans, be made f, cttn, wl
Step 3: Read and understand
T: Let’s read the lyrics f the sng. Pay attentin t the new wrds we learned just nw. Ntice the rhyme, rhythm and repetitin in the sng. (It’s a gd preparatin fr learning the sng fast)
Step 4: Explanatin
1) Explain the meaning f the lyrics, especially sme sentence structures. Als help Ss t grup wrds in the sng. Fr instance: He wears pants / n a schl day, Blue jeans / n the weekend, smething different / all year arund.

Step 5: listen and learn
T: Nw let’s listen t tape. Yu can just listen fr the first time t get the tune. Then sing in a lw vice with the tape.
Step 6: Practise singing
Ask the Ss themselves after having listened t the sngs fr several times. Then listen t the tape nce again. Select ne particular student wh sings well t be an example r lead t sing fr the ther students.
Step 7: Discussin
Dn’t miss the “speech bubbles”! Talk abut them with the students. Ask questins like these:
