    Step1 Warming up
    Shw students a shrt piece f the mvie Kung Fu Panda 2, let students get first impressin f the leading character in tday’s lessn——panda.
    Step2 Lead-in
    Shw students a picture f panda that lks like a Kung Fu panda and ther pictures f panda t aruse their interests. Then, in cntrast, share them with the news f the panda died recently and read the news in detail. Present the sentences with Present Prgressive Passive Vice accrding t the news ne by ne.
    Step3 Discvering useful structure
    List the sentences mentined befre, get students t pay attentin t the underlined part and summarize the grammar rules:
    1. The ther 4 pandas are being affected.
    2. Anther panda Daba is being killed by virus.
    3. The Rare Wild Animal Research Center is being shut.
    4. The assciate prfessr Mr. Jin is being interviewed.
    5. The surce f the virus is being searched fr.
    The Present Prgressive Passive Vice
    现在进行时的被动语态同主动语态一样强调在目前或现阶段正在进行的被动动作。经常和always, ften或者时间副词nw (现在), right nw (现在, 此刻), at present (现在,目前), at this mment (此刻), these days连用。
    结构:am/is/are + being dne
    Step4 Practice
    Cntinue t present sme mre pieces f the news abut pandas. And prvide sme key wrds fr students t tell the news by using the Present Prgressive Passive Vice. Specifically, give students the sentence f active vice at first and then guide them t transfrm it int passive ne.
    1. Frm nw n, “Panda killer” is being paid clse attentin t.
    2. The pandas are being prtected frm virus in Chengdu.
    3. Sme plans are being made against the virus.
    4. The prblem is being discussed at the meeting.
    ▲ Sme additinal rules wrth attentin:use the infrmatin abve help students t discver and make a summary.

    归纳:“be +under/in等介词+名词”结构可表示现在进行时的被动语态的含义。
    Step5 Speaking
    Frm the news, we can see the pandas are in danger f dying and even dying ut. There must be sme reasns. Nw, let’s wrk tgether t find ut:
    “Why the numbers f pandas are decreasing as time ges by?”
    First, get students t brainstrm fr different reasns.
    Then, get students t wrk in pairs t make a dialgue and guide them t use the structure f “be being dne”.
    Step6 Writing
    S far, we have fund ut sme reasns that affected the missing f pandas. It’s time fr us t give sme suggestins t save and prtect pandas.
    1. Brainstrming: Students are required t give their suggestins n save and prtect pandas. And after that, give them sme pictures as hints t make the suggestins clearer and crrect. Prvide them with sme key wrd.

    Build up nature reserves.
    Make sme psters t advertise the imprtance f prtecting pandas.
    Design sme shirts f pandas t sell fr mney.
    Raise mney t d the prtectin.

    2. Writing task: Write a letter t WWF and tell the prblems and give yur suggestins n hw t save and prtect pandas.
