    Unit 10 I’ve had this bike for three years.The First period Section A (1a--2d)Teaching Aims1, Knowledge aims:The students can master the following words and language chunks:(1) book, magazine, toy bear, toy lion, bread maker, sweater, dress, hat, scarf, board games, sweet, memory, yard sale(2) have a yard sale, it’s hard to do, bring back, sweet memories, give away to do, in need, a couple of, a bit old, check out, one last thing, thanks so muchHow long have you had that bike over there?I’ve had it for three years. 2. Ability aims:The students can talk about possessions and things around them.3. Moral aims:(1) Improve the cooperative spirit through pair work and role playing.(2) The students can treasure what they have got.Teaching Keys:(1)The students can master the following words and the expressions.book, magazine, toy bear, toy lion, bread maker, sweater, dress, hat, scarf, board games, sweet, memory, yard sale, have a yard sale, it’s hard to do, bring back, sweet memories, give away to do, in need, a couple of, a bit old, check out, one last thing, thanks so much(2) The students can talk about possessions and things around them.How long have you had that bike over there?I’ve had it for three years. Teaching Methods:Task-based language teaching method, the cooperative learning method, and multimedia-assisted teaching and learning method.Teaching Aids:Some pictures, PPTTeaching Procedures:Step1 Warming upThe students sing an English song.Step2 Checking the words1.       Ask the students to read and say some words by showing the pictures.2.       Encourage the students to write down the words according to the pictures.3.       To come to 1aLook at the picture and talk about if they have any of these things at home and how long they have had. Step3 Checking the language chunks:1. Show the students the phrases by showing several pictures.book, magazine, toy bear, toy lion, bread maker, sweater, dress, hat, scarf, board games, sweet, memory, yard sale, have a yard sale2. Get the students to read and say the languages chunks.3. Check up the language chunks.Step4 Presentation and Practice1.       Present the conversation:A: Do you have a bike?B: Yes, I do.A: How long have you had it?B: I’ve had it for three years. 2.       Get the students to practice the conversations.Step5 Listening (1b)1. Get the students to discuss the picture.2. Get the students to listen to the tape and answer the questions:  What’s the relationship between Amy and Jeff?  What things did Amy ask about?3. Get the students to show their answers.   4. Get the students to listen again and check the facts they hear.Step6 Presentation and Practice (1c)   Get the students to read the conversation and work in pairs. Step7 Listening (2a 2b)1. Get the students to discuss the picture.  Do you have …?  How long have you had it?Which one will you give away? Why?Which one will you keep? Why?2. Get the students to listen to the tape and check the things Amy’s family are giving away and circle the things they are keeping.3. Get the students to listen again and fill in the blanks. 4. Get the students to show their answers.   5. Get the students to read listening passage and try to write.  Step 8 Practice   Get the students to read the conversation and work in pairs. Step 9 Role-play conversation1. Show the students some questions  Who is Linda? Who is Amy? What does she want to do?  What things has Amy brought? How long has Amy or her mom had them?2.      Check the answers.3.      Play the tape for the students to listen and imitate.4.      The students read the conversation loudly.5.      Prepare for Role-play in groups.Step10 Homework1.
