Step1  Presentation

1、Write some words:

cat  tennis  slim  shop  fun

Pay attention to the vowel letters in the words. How to read them?

1.   The sounds of the letters are different from the sounds of the letters themselves. They are also different from the sounds in Unit1 and each sound is short.

It’s good for the students’ spoken English. And it’s helpful and useful for their English study.

Pay attention to the bold letters. How to read them? How to write the sounds?

2、PartA

Look at the words in PartA.Can you read them and put them under the correct sound groups?

3、PartB

Do you know the words? Who can read them? Have a try, please.

4、Part C

指导学生朗读短语，强化对元音字母在重读开音节和闭音节中发音的掌握。

5、More phrases and sentences

1.Ask the students to read the conversations.

2.Ask some students to work in pairs and act them.
