Step1 revision 1. Have a dictation. 2. We’ve already known a lot about TV programs. Do you know some TV superstars? Can you tell me their names and their representative works? Step2 Presentation: Do you know some famous film stars? By the way, how many kinds of top film awards do you know? How much do you know about the Oscars? An Oscar is an award that is given in the USA each year to the best film, best actor, etc. in the film industry. Today, I’ll introduce a Hollywood’s all-time favorite film star called Audrey Hepburn to you. First, I’ll show you some of her film pictures.
Step 3 Listening and Reading Read the passage on page 94 and 95. While you listen to the tape, try to get some information about Audrey Hepburn, and then answer the following questions in the box.
Step 4 Reading and Doing ExercisesRead the passage one by one, and try to find out the meanings of the new words Ask the students which of Audrey Hepburn’s films they like most. Then encourage them to respond orally using the following construction:“My favorite Audrey Hepburn film is …, because …” Read the passage again, then ask the students to read the words and definitions in part B1, on page 96, then complete part B on their own. 2. Ask the students to read the passage again, and then tell the following sentences “true” or “false” Step 5 Reading and RetellingListen to the tape, and then read it after the tape. Afterwards retell the passage according to the following main words and phrases:
