Teaching goals:
1.掌握四会单词:couple, probably, boss, hurry.
学习短语:elderly couple, have something to do with, turn out,in a hurry
2.学习并能理解限制性定语从句。
Individual self-study:
1.朗读老师在黑板上呈现的句子,认识什么是定语。如:
The suspect is a short thin man.
No one can provide useful information.
归纳:我们把修饰、限制名词或代词的部分叫做 。
2.通过话题讨论,认识定语从句。如:
T: What is a detective?
S: A detective is someone .
T: Who are the police asking to contact them when there was a murder in West Town?
S: They are asking anyone .
T: What are the police checking the scene for?
S: They are checking the scene for more clues .
T: What have the victim’s parents offered a reward for?
S: The victim’s parents have offered a reward for any information .
3.朗读这些句子,归纳总结什么是定语从句。
当修饰名词或代词的部分为句子时,称之为定语从句。定语从句通常在它所修饰的名词或代词的 。
4.呈现更多例句,翻译句意,归纳定语从句中关系代词的作用。
The book which/that I bought yesterday is very interesting.
The girl who/that you saw at the railway station is my sister.
我们通常用关系代词 , 或 来引导定语从句,它们在定语从句中也充当一定的成分。
5.完成教材P112页练习,判断是否包含限制性定语从句,划出定语从句,并翻译句意。
6.完成教材P113页B1部分的练习,五人一组,核对答案。
7.完成教材P114页B2部分的练习,四人一组,核对答案。
8.完成教材P114页B3部分的练习,两人一组,核对答案。

The young man mentioned that he was going to visit his parents after work.
The police are now checking the scene for fingerprints and other clues that may help solve the case.
Exercise testing:
1.读一篇短文,划出文中的5个定语从句,并解释句意。
Thomas Edison was a man who loved to think and work. Even when he was very young, he was curious about everything. There is a fun story that is about his as a child.
One day, Edison’s father saw that his five-year-old son was sitting on some eggs. He asked him why he was doing that. Instead of answering the question, Edison asked his father why he was not able to have chickens.
Edison went to school at the age of seven. His school life which lasted only three months was not very happy. All the teachers were impatient with this boy who liked to ask so many strange questions. Then his mother took him back home and decided that she would like to teach him herself.
Edison’s mother was a good teacher. She taught her son everything that he was interested in. When Edison became a great scientist, he always said that his mother was the making of him.
2.将下列句子译成英文。
(1)他居住的房子是20年前建造的。
The house in was built 20 years ago.
(2)我们昨天拜访的那位妇女是著名的科学家。
The woman yesterday is a famous scientist.
(3)坐在电脑旁工作的年轻人是我的哥哥。
The young man at the computer is my brother.
