Teaching procedures:

A Using if1.Lead-in

Ask：1. What TV programme will you watch if you finish your homework early tonight?

2. If it is sunny this Saturday, what will you do?

2.Work out the rule

  We use if to talk about the result of a possible action.

3.Presentation Give the students more examples:

If I have enough time, I will help many people.

If it rains tomorrow, I will stay at home.

If you work hard, you will learn English well.

If it does not rain tomorrow, we will have a trip.

We will go fishing if it is fine next Sunday.

4.Work out the rule

We often use the simple present tense in the if-clause. We need a comma after the if-clause when it is the first part of a sentence.

分小组讨论，说说这种句型的用法。

1．If从句（一般现在时）+主句（一般现在时）

  If you cool steam, it turns into water.

  If we don't water a flower, it dies. 

2．If 从句（一般现在时）+主句（一般将来时）

 If we don’t hurry, we won’t finish the work on time.

 这类if条件句的主句部分还可以用祈使句。如：

       Don't wait for me if I'm late.

这类if条件句的主句部分还可以用情态动词。如：

    I may buy a car if I pass my driving test
