2. collect and sort the key information needed for their fact file;

3. complete their fact file with the help of sample provided;

4. present the fact file and evaluate other groups’fact files.

Teaching Procedures

Step 1 Preparation

Have students work in groups of four.

Step 2 Implementation

Have students brainstorm scientists at home and abroad in different fields.

What key information should a fact file include?

Personal information (name, date of birth/death, nationality, childhood, education, etc.)

Achievements (scientific research, published works, etc.)

Step 6 Evaluation

Have each group present their fact files to the whole class by talking about their chosen topic in oral English. Have students display their pages among groups. At the end of each presentation, other groups ask questions about it or put forward suggestions.
