在英语中，修饰名词或代词的句子叫定语从句。被修饰的名词或代词叫先行词，连接先行词和定语从句的词叫引导词(也叫关系词)。如： The bys wh are playing ftball are frm Class One. （先行词)（引导词） （从句） 那群踢足球的小男孩都是一班的。

定语从句的引导词（关系词）常见的关系代词有：

表示地点，其先行词往往是表示地点的名词(如：place,rm,huse等)。
表示原因，常用在先行词reasn 后
表示时间，其先行词往往是表示时间的名词（如: time,day,hur,year等）

宾语从句是主从复合句的一种。宾语从句当中的从句在整个句子中作宾语。
e.g. I think yu shuld study hard.
构成：主句 + 连接词 +从句
that(无词汇意义)
if ,whether(是否)
如何确定连接词(根据从句句式)
当从句为陈述句时，连接词用that。that在句中无意义,在口语中可省略.
e.g. The earth ges arund the sun. I knw… He will be back in an hur. I think…
I knw that the earth ges arund the sun.
I think that he will be back in an hur.
注意：只能用whether不用if 的三种情况
一般情况下，if 和whether可以互换，但以下3种 情况只能用whether：①与r nt连用： He asked me whether r nt I was cming.②在介词之后： It depends n whether it is ging t rain.③在不定式之前： We haven’t decided whether t g there.
