Kids,parents,teachers and health experts are calling fr traditinal schl unifrms t be replaced with sprts unifrms five days a week.

“Our brains cntinue t prcess music even when nne is playing,including apparently while we are asleep,”says Michael Scullin.
He and his clleagues used surveys f 199 peple,as well as a sleep lab test invlving 50 vlunteers,t measure hw listening t music befre bedtime affects sleep.In particular,the team fcused n catchy earwrms.
Earwrms were reprted thrughut the night by participants,with thse catching an earwrm taking lnger t fall asleep,spending mre time in the light stages f sleep,and waking up mte times during the night.Surprisingly,the instrumental versins f the sngs caused abut twice as many earwrms and mre subsequent sleep prblems than the versins with vcal(声乐).
“We thught that peple wuld have earwrms at bedtime when they were trying t fall asleep,but we certainly didn’t knw that peple wuld reprt regularly waking up frm sleep with an earwrm,”says Scullin.“But we saw that in bth the survey and experimental study.”
Past studies have linked late-night music listening with better sleep in thse with insmnia(失眠),perhaps because it can relax the bdy.
Scullin suggests aviding listening t music right befre bed t limit the chance f a catchy tune taking hld in ur minds.Engaging in sme ther cgnitive activity befre sleeping,like making a list f jbs fr the next day,might als help clear the mind,Scullin says.
