1 Students will be able to describe things that they did, do and be going to do.
2 Students will be able to write a Christmas card.
3 Students will be able to communicate to others by writing Christmas cards.
Teaching difficult points:
yesterday, tomorrow, now, card, be going to
Distinguish ‘Simple Present Tense, Present Continuous Tense, simple past tense and
Simple Future Tense’.

Teaching steps:
Step 1 Class Opening and Review
1. Greeting
T: Hello! Everyone stands up. Let’s sing a song together! We wish you a merry Christmas!
2. Review
1) T: What is the date today? What was the date yesterday? What is the date tomorrow?
T: When is Christmas Day? What are you going to do on Christmas Day?
S: ……(answer the questions one by one)
2) do some exercises
How does Danny often go to school? How did Danny go to school yesterday? What about
tomorrow?
3) do more exercises: look at the pictures and make sentences (one by one). (Write the answers in
the middle of the black board. )
What are you doing now?
What did you do yesterday?
What are you doing tomorrow?
4) Let’s look at the other pictures. Stand up and make sentences:
Put up the Christmas tree: for boys.
Buy gifts: for girls.
What are you doing now?
What did you do yesterday?
What are you going to do tomorrow?
Step 2 New Concept
1. Show some Christmas cards
Christmas card, Christmas tree, Santa.
2. Listen and watch the CD for lesson 21.
3. Students open their books and read the text together 4 fill in the blanks and answer the
questions.
Step 3 Learn to write a Christmas card
1. First…… Then …… Next…… Finally……
2. Li Ming’s card
3. Can you write a card? Open your books and do part 3. Ask someone to the computer to write a card.
4. Complete the card on the blackboard.
5. Are you going to write a card? Students write their own cards to their friends.
6. Are you going to send a card? Sure! To _______.(stick the paper on the blackboard)
Step 4 Actions
Students send their cards to their friends. His/her friend will read the card to the students and ask
another one to send a card.
