The skies are raining big blcks f ice, and experts are trying t learn what’s ging n.
Fr the secnd time in six days, Califrnia was attacked (袭击) by ice balls. The latest happened n early Thursday. A large blck f ice drpped int Lma Linda, Califrnia. The ice crashed thrugh the metal rf f a fitness center, leaving a hle up t 2½ feet wide. N ne was hurt.

Thus, the temperature difference between warm and cld air in the trpsphere prduces strng up-and-dwn winds that repeat the hail-frmatin prcess, withut a strm.

    B. N building was destryed.
    C. Bth were seen by Crawfrd.
    D. Bth caused a large number f hles.
    34. What d we learn abut drpping ice?
    A. It is very cmmn arund the wrld.
    B. It ften happens in Spain in recent years.
    C. It has been carefully studied since 2000.
    D. It is mst likely t be prduced by planes.
    35. What is the cause f ice falls accrding t Martinez-Frias?
    A. Strng winds abve the trpsphere.
    B. The frmatin f hail.
