Students guess who the person is. Teacher shows students a photo of O. Henry and invites students to share what they have known about him and his works. （masterpieces， features of his short stories， background， etc.） 3. Prediction. What happened 20 years ago? What happened after 20 years?6’Activity 2：Reading for information1. Teacher asks students to read the story quickly and get the key information to fill in the table. Why?（3） What has the man experienced in the West in the past twenty years? How about Jimmy? How do you know that? 2’Step 4：Make a summaryTeacher leads students to analyze the characteristics of the two main characters. Students read the story again and analyze the characteristics of the main characters.
