Today we’ll learn the pronunciation of another combination ,that is the combination of “ch, sh”.

Teacher presents the task:

Today we will find the secret rule of combination “ch, sh” in the words. Try to read some  sentences include such words fluently..

To finish the task, we should:

1. To find the pronunciation rule of “ch/ sh”.

2. To read the following words correctly and try to spell them:

China, chicken, lunch, teacher;

Sheep, fish, shirt, shorts.

3. Listen to the tape carefully and try to finish the sentences.

4.Be able to chant and read the sentences include such words fluently:

1. Show some words that include the letters combination: “pl, bl, br, gr”

Let the students read.

2. To find to rule of the pronunciation of ch/sh. Read, write and listen the words of –ch, -sh.

Spelling time:

T reads the words, Ss spell them.

Teacher, lunch, ..

Sheep, fish, …

T reads the sentence, Ss spell them.

Teacher is eating lunch.

She likes the shirt and the shorts. Etc.

ch: chair chance   change   channel, chew, children
china, chick, cheese , choose ,chase  each, much, watch, choice, charge  cheer challenge cheerful    chopsticks ，chocolate cherish chill

etc.

sh: cash, dish, brush, short, sharp,  shoe, show, share, shell, shirt.. etc.

Finish the exercises on the text book:

1. Listen, number and say.
2. Choose, write and say.

Check the answers.

Using CAI or drawings

T: (show a picture)

Who is he?

Ss: He is a teacher.

T: What’s he doing?

S: He is eating lunch.

T: What’s he eating?

S: He is eating chicken.

Let’s chant:

Look at the teacher

Sitting on a chair

Watching his watch

Eating his lunch

What’s his lunch?

Chicken and chocolate!

Chant together.

Make such a chant by yourselves using the words that include “sh”.

Present sentences or words containing “ch, sh”. Have a reading competition.

Give assessment to the excellent little speakers.
