Teaching procedures Step 1 Warming up & Revision 1. Greet the class. 2. Chant together. Have the Ss get more familiar with the animals. 3. Free talk. Step 2 Presentation & Practice 1. Let’s say. Show the main scenes to the Ss and encourage them to describe the picture by their own words. Guide the Ss to say with He/She is V-ing. They are V-ing. 2. Show some pictures and ask the Ss to say out the sentences with the structure of be + V-ing. Then read the sentences together. 3. Ask the Ss to look at the clock on the back wall of the class- room. Ask the Ss to say out the time and guide them to say It’s 9 o’clock. We’re having English class now. Then lead into the new lesson. 4. Show the clock and pictures on PPT. Ask the Ss to describe the different actions according to the different time. Then lead out the new phrases one by one. At last, start to learn the words doing morning exercises, having … class, eating lunch, reading a book, listening to music. 5. Practice these words of this part. Ask the Ss to try to spell them and check some individuals to spell the words. 6. Play a guessing game. Ask the Ss to guess and say out the correct sentences with He/She/It is V-ing. They’re V-ing. 7. Turn to Page59. Ask the Ss to read the key sentences according to the words. Step 3 Consolidation & Extension 1. Ask the Ss to translate some sentences. Help the Ss understand the usages of What’s … doing? What are … doing? He/She/It is V-ing. They’re V-ing. 2. Look and say. Describe the pictures like this Mike is listening to music. 3. Do exercises. A. Translate the sentences. B. Answer the questions according to the phrases. Step 4 Summary & Homework 1. Focus on the key words and sentences of the lesson. 2. Do homework. A. Make a schedule about yourself. B. Talk about the schedule with your partner. | ||
