Step 1  Warm-up & Revision

1. Greet the class.

2. Read the text on page48 together.

3. Let’s chant on page50 together.

Step 2  Presentation & Practice

1. Show PPT and say: Mike is going to celebrate the farewell party. Let’s have a look.

2. Look at the picture and ask: What can you see in the picture? Have the students look and match. Then check together.

3. Group the words according to the pronunciation on page49. Then write more words for each group.

4. Find words with the following patterns.

  a-e, i-e, ar, or, ee, ea, ai, ow, oo

  Have the students to find out the words and underline on the book.

5. Watch the flash of the story and judge. Then check the answers together.

6. Read the story carefully and circle the key sentences. Discuss in pairs, and then the teacher explains for them.
