What a father had done now has been redone by his son. US video game magnate(大亨) Richard Garriott headed into space aboard a Russian rocket watched by his father, a NASA astronaut who went into space at the height of the Cold War.
The Russian Soyuz TMA13 spacecraft lifted off in clear weather from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on the Kazakh steppe(大草原) just after 1 pm local time.
A video game developer from Texas, Garriott paid $ 30 million to fly into space alongside US astronaut Michael Fincke and Russian cosmonaut Yury Lonchakov.

“I can see he is really enjoying it like a little kid in the candy shop , ” Miller said.
Space officials said the Soyuz rocket had reached orbisafely and would dock with the International Space Station (ISS) in about two days.

Many health products advertised on TV say they can improve your memory. But only ordinary food and healthy habits have been shown to work.
A research team from University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) has made a fourstep plan to improve your memory in just 14 days. “It sounds like another advertisement, but it really works,” says Gary Small, a professor from UCLA. The team found the fourstep plan improved the memory of teenagers under stress (压力) and older people. Here's the program:
Memory training: Train yourself with memory exercises throughout the day.
Healthy diet: Eat five rather than three meals a day but less food for each meal. The food should be rich in omega3 fats, such as whole grains and vegetables with antioxidants (抗氧化剂).
Physical exercise: Have some physical exercise such as walking, basketball or running every day. Physical exercise helps your brain stay sharp.
Managing stress: Express your feelings instead of bottling them up. Make time for fun and relaxation. Stress is one of the brain's worst enemies. It prevents you from thinking clearly and enjoying life.
After a twoweek study that included memory exercise, physical training and diet changes, the memories of the people who're tested improved by about 5%.
“We've known for years that diet and exercise can help people keep their physical health. This is a key part of healthy aging,” said Gary Small. “But keeping mentally active is also important. Now we have proved that people can improve their memories through a program of memory exercises and managing stress.”

Sitting on a chair all day in school can make anyone want to move around. So, more and more teachers are letting students have a ball. By sitting on exercise balls instead of chairs, teachers find students’ posture (姿势) and attention improve.
Dottie Pownall, a fifth-grade teacher in West Virginia, USA, has been using balls as chairs since December 2008. “The students love them”, she says. Pownall took a survey of her students. She found that 80% of the students thought sitting on the balls helped them pay more attention to what they were learning.
The teacher, Pisa Witt, felt so strong about the use of balls as chairs that she started WittFit. This company encourages the use of the balls. And the company educates not only teachers but also students on how to use them. “Our products are used in 24 states, three provinces in Canada, Puerto Rico (波多黎各) and Japan, ” says Witt. “Research shows that sitting on the balls makes them sit up straighter. You can slouch (低头垂肩地坐) on a ball, ” says Witt, “but it feels awful. ” Because when the students are moving, their blood (血液) increases. That carries more oxygen (氧气) to the brain (大脑), so the kids have more energy and can focus longer.
