Listen and fill in the blanks.

Language points

1. In China and some other countries, friends shake hands to greet each other.    shake-shook-shaken

greet sb.意为“和某人打招呼”    “to greet each other”在这里是to do不定时表目的，握手的目的是和彼此打招呼。

shake hands 意为“握手”，注意hands为复数形式

shake hands with sb.和…握手=shake sb’s hand

2. In India, when people nod their heads, they mean “no”.    nod-nodded-nodded

nod one’s head意为“点头”，其反义短语为“shake one’s head” “摇头”

E.g.: “Nod your head” is the opposite of “shake your head”.

           “点头”是 “摇头”的反义词。

rude意为“粗鲁的”，“It’s rude to do sth.”意为“做某事很粗鲁”

point to“指着；指向”，强调方向通常用来指向离说话人较远的事物

point at “指着”，通常用来指着离说话人较近的事物，指人时一般表示粗鲁或不礼貌。

He pointed to the house on the other side of the river.

他指向河对岸的房子。（较远的事物）

The teacher pointed at the blackboard and said, “you must look carefully.”老师指着黑板说，你必须看仔细。（较近的事物）
