教学过程

Step 1 Warming-up

1．The teacher says: "I like basketball." Then asks: "Do you like basketball/ volleyball? Do you want to join a basketball club?"

2．Introduce the topic and show learning aims.

Step 2 Presentation

1．Ask the students to look at the pictures of the page, there are some clubs in it. Let's look at the clubs. What are they? They are art club, English club, chess club, swimming club and music club. What club do you want to join? Help the students to answer I want to join the art club and so on.

2．If the school has clubs, the teacher can ask the students: What clubs do we have in our school?

3．The teacher writes "What club do you want to join? I want to join…" on the blackboard. Ask the students to practice it. Then introduces the key vocabularies and the words can and can't.

Step 3 Practice

1．Work on 1c.

Now please read the conversation in 1c and practice in pairs.

2．Show some things on PPT and ask the Ss to practice in pairs using the structure.

3．Work on 2a.

Show phrases of clubs on PPT and ask the Ss to read the English words:

English club, art club, music club, chess club, swimming club

Then listen and circle the clubs you hear.

Check the answers.

4．Work on 2b.

Listen again and complete the sentences.

5．Work on 2c.

Look at 2b and talk about what the people can do and the clubs they want to join.
