    Althugh the city f Gilan is nt far frm the capital f the cuntry, the peple here have nt enjyed the ecnmic advantages as thse in the capital. Mst f the peple here are farmers, and their nly surce f earning mney is selling what they grw t markets. The markets want t make a prfit when the farmers sell, s the peple f the city d nt get very gd deals. The main crp they sell is tea, althugh sme rice and cm is grwn here t. Nwadays, the yung generatin living in the rural parts f the city is mving t bigger cities. Their parents and grandparents seem t think this is because the kids dn't like village life. Hwever, the fact is that there are nt many jbs here. Althugh the sil is gd t grw what they need, yung peple dn't want t be farmers like previus generatins. Older peple here entertain themselves by watching their favrite sprt, r meeting in small markets. A festival is held here every 10 years, and is attended by thusands f peple. Almst half the city ges there. The last time it was held was in 2017, and the lcals say everyne is lking frward t the next ne. Sme even say it shuld be held every 5 years, instead f 10.
