“Mister, d yu think this wuld be a gd present fr my little sister?” he said in a brken accent, hlding up a bttle f sap bubble liquid. “I dn’t want her t knw abut it,” he whispered befre I culd even answer.
I just agreed with him. He stuck his hand in the pcket f his dirty jeans and pulled ut a fistful f change, asking if he had enugh mney t pay fr it. “It lks like yu’ll have t try t find smething else,” I said. “Yu need ten mre cents.” I dubted it was a trick, especially at Christmas. He lked sad and went back t find smething else.
I watched him frm the crner f my eye fr a while as he lked at ther items, but always came back t the sap bubbles. I left the area fr a few minutes and when I came back he was still there, trying t find a cheaper gift. Smehw, the kid struck me as different frm mst the trublemakers we gt in the ty department.

She wasn’t accepted by the classmates that sn. She was quiet and kept t her-self and always writing a jurnal during lessns. Henry was lking fr a chance t give her a hand but had realized this task was tugh.
That class Henry decided t lk ver her shulder and see what she was writing. On a small piece f paper, he saw the painful wrds "I am nt gd enugh. I’m ugly. I’m stupid. N ne likes me. I hate myself." The girl was absrbed in her lneliness and sadness and didn’t realize she was verseen.
This task was mre challenging because he had never seen a yung girl was s disappinted and sad. Great teachers knew that putting extra effrt, a kind heart and sul int caring fr his students made all the difference.
