本单元主要围绕“旅行”展开话题。教材以丝绸之路为背景,为学生创设了了解中国其他城市的环境。帮助学生练习并掌握在新环境中如何用英语介绍一个城市的标志以及特色。增进了学生们对于祖国的了解与热爱。
本课“A Visit t Xi’an” 是一篇游记性质的英语课文,抓住西安历史文化名城的特点,介绍了西安的名胜古迹和美食,使学生在掌握英语知识的同时也对西安这个古城有一定的了解。
二、教学目标
语言技能:能用自己的语言介绍出一个城市的特色,标志性建筑,了解西安的文化。
掌握一些基本词汇的用法:
welcme t, climb up, hit the drum, ring the bell, ancient, N phts!
三、情感态度:
1)激发学生热爱祖国,了解祖国的热情。
2) 激发学生学习英语的兴趣。
四、教学重点,难点:intrduce sme places f interest f Xi’an in English

六、教学步骤
Step I Greeting.(5’)
Frm the shrt intrductin f myself, let the students knw my name and my schl, tell them I want t make friends with them and I am willing t be their tur guide if they have a chance t visit my schl.
(Purpse: make the students relaxed and be familiar with me, teach the new wrds tur guide at the same time)
Step II New cncepts
1. Shw sme pictures f interesting places in Xi’an t teach the students the new wrds and the text in Part 1 and sme f text in Part 2:(18’)
the Big Wild Gse Pagda, hit the drum, ring the bell, the Terra Ctta Warrirs, dish, pit, N phts!
(Purpse: Frm the pictures, help the students t have a visit t Xi’an. This is an enjyable way t help the students t remember the features f interesting place. Teaching Part 1 and sme f Part 2 at the same time is t integrate the teaching material)
2. Listen t the tape and fill in the blanks.(5’)
3. Read Part 2 in rles and answer the questins. What des Danny want t d?Can he d it?(6’)
(Purpse: Reading in rles makes the reading mre interesting. While reading, train the students t have the ability t lk fr the key infrmatin.)
4. Accring t sme guide wrds, encurage the students t be tur guides and intrduce the places f interest in Xi’an.(8’)
(Purpse: encurage the students t be tur guide, this way can nt nly make the students understand the text well, but als help the students t put the knwledge int practice.)
